Metabolomics

Metabolomics is the youngest of the ‘omics’. In this course, you’ll gain an overview of metabolomics and its experimental workflows—both targeted and untargeted. When combined with other omics, the analysis of metabolites offers a unique snapshot of biological processes. Although it demands careful sample preparation and complex data analysis, metabolomics has limitless applications across research and industry.

Dr. Sherif Idriss

Sherif Idriss holds a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Lübeck, Germany, and an M.Sc. in Pharmacology from the University of Oxford, UK. During his doctoral research, he investigated the role of astrocytes in energy homeostasis and obesity, and developed novel methods for primary astrocyte culture. His work has been published in leading scientific journals, including Frontiers and Neuropsychopharmacology. Following his Ph.D., Sherif conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Bern, Switzerland, focusing on innovative therapeutic approaches for multiple sclerosis. His expertise spans neuroscience, pharmacology, and longevity biotechnology, and he has served as both a research scientist and CEO of multiple companies developing therapeutics for age-related conditions.
