Foundations of Analytical Chemistry

This intermediate-level course is designed to introduce the principles of analytical chemistry and help to understand how analytical chemistry finds application in real-world laboratory and clinical settings.

Starts December 19th 2021

About This Course

The intermediate-level course is designed to help learners understand the fundamental concepts of analytical chemistry- theory and practice. Analytical chemistry finds application and is one of the most coveted skills in chemistry-related industrial jobs. This course covers theoretical topics such as chemical equilibrium, the law of mass action, and solubility products to help develop a strong theoretical foundation. This course will assist in developing knowledge of analytical calculations, correlations and regressions, errors, and ultimately determine the accuracy and precision of analytical measurement. Those enrolling in the course will develop an in-depth knowledge of the working principles, theory, instrumentation, and data analysis of various analytical techniques such as chromatography, spectroscopy, and imaging that are commonly used in laboratory settings. The concepts discussed in the course find importance in both academia and industry alike. The course also highlights the applications of analytical chemistry in the industry and provides a brief overview of the existing career opportunities for those with knowledge of analytical chemistry.

Who Is This Course For

This course is for anyone looking to gain theoretical and practical knowledge in analytical chemistry techniques that are in demand for many industrial jobs. This course is also for those looking to learn analytical calculations and estimations, errors, and concepts of quality control and quality assurance. Basic knowledge of chemistry will be an advantage but is not a mandatory requirement. Undergraduate or graduates and postgraduate scholars, researchers, academicians such as lecturers and professors, pharmaceutical scientists, and other industry professionals are likely to benefit from this course. This course will particularly benefit those seeking to land competitive chemistry-related industrial jobs or those looking to further their education in an advanced degree chemistry program.
