This introductory course is a beginner’s guide to bioentrepreneurship. The course assesses various elements of bioentrepreneurship including requisites and strategic thinking, product development, and tech transfer, along with the scope and prospect of bioentrepreneurship.
This self-learning introductory-level course is designed carefully for undergraduates, graduates, postgraduate scholars, and academicians, other industry professionals, and policymakers with a background in business or investment. Those who have attended the biotech investment course including investors and venture capitalists will also benefit from this course. This course will be beneficial to those aiming to launch their own bioentrepreneurial start-up venture. Basic knowledge in biological sciences and/or biotechnology and business is desirable but not mandatory.

Martina Fabricci, MSc, MBA, is the founder of CRISPR Biotech Engineering (CBE) and the CBEHx platform. She has a strong background in science with years of experience in the investment sector focussing on biotechnology.
Her pioneering efforts in women empowerment and contribution towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (UNSDG) of providing quality STEM education have been globally appreciated. She strongly supports the elimination of gender disparity in education and aims to provide quality education at an affordable price to students, scientists, academicians, industry professionals, and others worldwide. She aims to improve learning opportunities for all, irrespective of their socioeconomic background and believes that education can drive socioeconomic development.
Within a short span of time in her career, she has received several awards and accolades. As the founder and director of CBE, Martina has received the ‘Woman Who Achieves Awards’ in the Start-up of the Year category and the ‘Woman Business Conference Awards’ for the Innovation Category. She has also been selected as the finalist for the SME National Business Awards as Young Business Person of the Year. She has been able to carve a niche for herself in a domain that is still believed to be male-dominated. CBE has been nominated for several awards and has been selected as the finalist in several others, including the ‘Great British Entrepreneur Awards’, ‘Wales StartUp Awards’ as Medtech StartUp of the year.
